Birde is the world’s first Interactive Media Player for kids. Birde allows toddlers and preschoolers to listen to audio books, music and watch video without needing to use a screen, keyboard, mouse or remote control. Parents choose the content from the vast library available, then kids tap a token that we call a ‘seed’ of their favourite audio books, albums or videos against the Birde icon and the music plays. Music, audio books and video for growing little minds.
Birde is Educational
We have chosen some of the world’s leading content providers to share educational music, audio book and video content for our platform. All of the content is chosen by us. We make sure everything has an educational element to help toddlers and preschoolers learn at their own pace. We have content from The Wiggles, StoryBots, Play School, Counting with Paula, Dinosnores with more being added all the time.
Birde Is Easy to Use
From the very first prototype, Birde has been designed with young kids in mind. Every change we make, we test with a large range of kids to make sure it’s easy to use and accessibility. We have found that children as young as one intuitively know how to tap the Birde console with a Birde Seed to play music.
Birde is Kidproof
When you design a product for kids, you want to make sure it’s completely kidproof. No more broken screens and cracked remotes like you might have experienced with other media streaming devices! Both the console and the Birde Seeds are waterproof, washable and drop proof in little hands.
Birde is Safe
This is what is most important to us. We developed Birde to protect children from harmful content. Birde does require a Wi-Fi connection to download content however it has no access to the Internet. Unlike most media streaming devices, there is no way children can find anything inappropriate or see advertising. You choose the content you think is appropriate for them.

How Birde Began
Birde was founded by Sydney couple Daniel and Leah Corkin in 2015. It all began when they tried to find entertainment options for their three young boys. The kids wanted to be independent and choose their favourite music or videos. However, the result was scratched DVDs, dropped tablets and frustrated kids (and mum and dad!).
Daniel and Leah realised there was no safe platform for children to independently interact with media. As Daniel is a product developer and engineer, he decided to build his own. The result is Birde, the world’s first smart media player for children. It allows children to safely play educational and entertaining content that they can choose themselves.
Birde has specially developed content platform, media player and apps to ensure a safe and fun way for children to learn through play. Find out more about what Birde is and how it works.
